The Last Summer Vacation 2015

I took a little break, before we left I told myself that I would still write twice a week but then I just put everything down and spent time with family.

Carl, Joni, Jack and I drove down to Vancouver on Friday the 21st to start our last summer vacation. On Saturday the 22nd we had D+R's wedding which Carl was one of the groomsmen and on the 29th we had W+K's wedding in Gibsons on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. Both kid free weddings! So we made a trip out of it and spent 4 days in Vancouver visiting family and 2 days in Campbell River to visit my grandparents, cousins and Aunt and Uncle. The weather was beautiful and I swear there's nothing better than taking a BC Ferry on a gorgeous sunny day.

After Campbell River we took the Comox - Powell River ferry and the Earls Cove - Saltery Bay ferry to the Sunshine Coast where we spent the night with my Aunt and Uncle in Pender Harbour.

The next day the weather changed and we headed to Gibsons where I rented a little house 'downtown'. I love Gibsons, before we bought our current house Carl and I were seriously debating living there and every time we go back it pulls on the heartstrings just a little.

we ended the holiday with a beautiful baby shower that my friend Kerry and I threw for our beautiful friend Morgan. Joni helped with as much as she could and she even organized a flower parade at the end! So much wonderful time spent with close friends and family!

We're back home now. The weather has cooled and Joni will be started Grade one next week. I've got many art shows coming up in the next few months and I'm going to be BUSY preparing for them. I'm still trying to wrap my head around all the painting I want to do plus the Christmas Markets. Yes those words seem early but they will sneak up fast. So there goes summer vacation and it was a fabulous one. Back to reality, spending more time at the easel instead of in the lake and making cards, prints, calendars etc. The last quarter of the year is my busiest and after a lazy, hot summer I'm looking forward to jumping back in.

Stay tuned, I've got some exciting new products and shows announcing soon.

xoxo
